Mangaluru:  In a hit- and-run case at Kallapu on Netravati Bridge, a 28-year-old youth, Subed, died on the spot, and 19 year-old Mohamed Shakir from Chembugudde, who was riding pillion, sustained injuries. 

Krishna, serving as a manager in Someshwar Muncipality, was speeding from Mangaluru to Thookkatu. He knocked down Subed’s scooter on Netravati bridge on NH 66.

Subed who was flung on the road, died on the spot, after being run over by a truck.

Krishna, however, attempted to flee from the spot after the accident.
The South Traffic police, after a hot chase, succeeded in nabbing Krishna near Thokkatu overbridge.

The truck driver, Surendra from Karkala, who was transporting cement to Kerala, was also arrested.
