Karwar: An elderly woman was killed, while three others sustained injuries after the car in which they were travelling came in collision with a speeding truck nearr Muduga in Karwar.

The deceased is identified as Shafiya Muhammad Sayyed, aged 65.

Reports from Karwar informed that the accident happened when the car was heading towards Ankola from Goa, while the truck was in the opposite direction. The injured in the accident involved two-year-old toddler, car driver Zubair and Meenak Bopper. They were taken to the district hospital immediately after the incident.

A case has been registered in Karwar rural police station.
