She also advised that if any passengers come across any such harassment in trains, that passenger should immediately contact TT or RPF personnel or they can call Security Helpline No 182 and at last they could have pulled the chain.
On June 30, Nisha (name changed) boarded the train at Thivim, Goa and the harassment was reported between Thivim and Madagon. The victim had tweeted that she was subjected to harassment by a group of travellers, allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Soon after her tweet, the railway officials in Karwar were tipped off about the incident and they in fact conducted a check on the same night.

At Karwar station, the police team asked the victim to identify the harassers but she could not, as most of the passengers were sleeping. The railway officials assured her safety and a ticket collector was made to travel in the same coach to ensure her safety till she reached Mangaluru.
A railway official said, Neha boarded B3 compartment of the train at Thivim, she took reservation from Madgaon. The alleged harassment took place between Thivim and Madgaon. “The local chart shows the victim had no ticket of AC coach and investigation is on in this regard as well,” he said.
