Bhatkal: A Bhatkali student, Ms. Fathima Thahmi Shingeri, is now officially a 'Doctor of Medicine' (MD) after she has excelled with good numbers from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Bengaluru.
Daughter of Noorul Mubeen Shingeri and Sayeeda Firdous, Ms. Fathima Thahmi Shingeri is a student of AJ Institute of Medical Science, Mangaluru. In the exams held in June-July this year, she managed to score 432 marks out of 700 obtaining 61.7% making the community proud.
Fathima Thahmi, who pursued her primary and secondary education from Indian school of Ibra in Sultanate of Oman, had obtained 90% marks in SSLC, followed with 80% marks in Pre-University Cource by being a student of St. Ignatius College in Mangaluru. She was also able to position herself within 1000 ranks in CET examination.
After her PUC in 2015, she got admitted to Kasturba Medical College in Mangaluru, from where she pursued MBBS education and scored 68% with first class result. Following MBBS, Dr Fathima Tehmi continued with internship at Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru before joining M.D.
Speaking to SahilOnline on her achievements, she said, she would like to thank Allah for guiding her throughout, and her parents for supporting her through all adversities. "I have always dreamt to build a career where I would also be able to help and serve the needy", she said, adding " I would like to encourage the younger generation of Bhatkal to expand their career especially in the field of medicine".
On her achievements, various organizations and dignitaries of Bhatkal congratulated her and expressed their best wishes.
