Udupi: A man was seriously injured in a leopard attack at Malibettu in Ninjoor village near Karkala of Udupi district on 31st May, Wednesday.

According to sources, the leopard was hidden into a cowshed belonging to Appi Poojarti at around 8 am, when Valerian D'Souza entered the cowshed, the loepard attacked on him after attacking a cow.

D'Souza was immediately taken to the district hospital in Udupi and then shifted to a private hospital in Manipal. The cow sustained minor injuries.

Meanwhile, the forest Department personnel rushed to the spot and took the injured leopardes to the range forest office in Karkala. It was revealed that the leopard was weak due to hunger.
