New Delhi: National President of Welfare Party of India Dr SQR Ilyas said Home Minister Amit Shah's speech in Kolkata is communal and divisive.

Quoting Mr Shah's speech, that Hindu,Sikh, Jain,Buddhist and Christian refugees will not be deported and Citizenship Amendment Bill will be implemented in West Bengal before NRC, is dangerous, he said.

Dr Ilyas said a home minister should be above partisan and segregating citizens on religious lines is unbecoming of his office.

He said Mr Shah in the garb of identifying illegal immigrants is targeting Muslim citizens and creating an atmosphere of fear in the country.

He warned Mr Shah and said, "for your short time goals do not to play with the secular credentials of this country as this will have severe repurcations.
