Mangaluru: The district administration’s vaccination drive, to be launched from Monday onwards, has set a target of vaccinating 1,52,319 students, who are above 18 years, and 27,840 staff in 144 colleges across Dakshina Kannada.

The vaccination will begin in a phased manner and on Monday 14,410 beneficiaries in 61 degree colleges, 43 diploma/engineering colleges, 32 nursing/para medical colleges and 08 medical colleges will receive their first jabs.

Sources in the district health office said that 12,687 teaching and 15,153 non-teaching staff are eligible for vaccination. The district administration appealed to students and college staff to get vaccinated at their colleges.

7,51,016 vials

Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra K V said 7,51,016 vials had been disbursed in the district so far.

As many as 6,16,224 people had received their first dose and 1,34,792 people had received their second dose of vaccination.
