Karwar: An elderly woman who was quarantined at Taluk Government Hospital in Yellapur in Uttara Kannada district breathed her last on Tuesday, confirmed Uttara Kannada district administration.

She died of a cardiac arrest and was also infected by Corona. Her earlier reports showed she was infected with Corona. But to reconfirm, her throat swab samples were sent for testing for second time.

However, on recieving the reports on Wednesday morning, it was confirmed that the deceased was infected with Coronavirus. Her funeral was carried out according to the government's Corona guidelines.

Sources said that the 60 years old woman, who died of Coronavirus, is a resident of Honnavar, and was currently residing at her daughter-in-law's house in Yellapur.
