Karwar: Excise sleuths on Saturday seized 389 litres of Goan liquor which was being trafficked illegally during a raid that was conducted at forest area in Mudageri area in the Taluk. Five persons in this connection have been arrested by the police.

The accused are identified as Joseph, Abdullah, N Suresh, Satish and Deepak Satyavijay.

The estimated value of seized liquor is more than 1 lakh rupees.

A case stands registered in Karwar Excise police station.
