Karwar: The district administration of Uttara Kannada has gone online by opening accounts on social networking sites Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Deputy Commissioner K Harishkumar said that the move aims at going closer to the people of the district which is geographically vast. These will also help in disseminating useful information by the administration in the public.

The deputy commissioner has issued an order appointing Additional Deputy Commissioner Nagaraj Singrer and Social Welfare Department Deputy Director Purushottam S to manage the three social networking site accounts opened in the name 'dcuttarakannada'.
