Amethi: In a shocking incident, a CCTV captured the footage of a police team planting a firearm in a citizen's shop.

The police team then tried to nab Gulzar Ahmad, the shop owner saying he was doing 'illegal business'.

When he told them about the cameras installed inside his shop, they let him go.

The video went viral and was reported by The Muslim Mirror. The incident happened in Badal Garh, Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.

Speaking to Navbharat Times, Gulzar said the police tried to pressure him to delete the footage.

It may be noted that in the financial year 2020-21, more than 11,000 cases of human rights violations were reported all over India.

Of the 11,000+ cases, 5388 cases were reported from UP alone, as per details shared by the Home Ministry.
