Karwar: Uttara Kannnada district will be open defecation free by end of September District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer L Chandrashekara Nayak said.

Under’Clean india Mission’ project, district has achieved best performance in the State, with 21,080 remaining toilets being set up by end of September.It will be declared open defecation free district, he said.

The target is to construct toilets for 1,23,061 families in the district and already has constructed toilets for 1,01,981 families.We have built 7,227 toilets in the first quarter of 2017-2018 and achieved the best in the state.
