Udupi: A man from Manipal lost Rs 1,29,899 to vishing, also known as voice phishing.

The victim is Vishwesh Krishna, who shared his ATM password and OTP (one time password) with a caller. 

The caller had reportedly told the victim that he was a bank officer and sought ATM password and OTP number and withdrew the amount from from his bank account. A case has been registered.
