Udupi:  A 38-year-old man suffered injuries after smashing his car against the median and later ramming it to an electric pole at Karavali Junction on Friday.

According to the police, the injured driver was identified as Anand Padmanabha Upadhya, a resident of Kallyanpura. The victim, who is a temple priest by profession was heading towards his work. He was immediately rushed to KMC, Manipal and is slated to be out of danger.

The impact of collision was so severe that the electric pole had pierced into car’s left portion.

A case is registered in Udupi town police station.
