Udupi: A pedestrian who was injured after being hit by a speeding car on Saligram NH-66 near Kota in Udupi district on Thursday, breathed his last today at Manipal KMC hospital. 

The deceased here is identified as Narayan, aged 50. With this, the death toll has risen to two. 

It can be recalled that on Thursday two brothers were walking aside the road when a speeding car rammed over them, following one was killed on the spot. Narayan, who was injured, was taken to Manipal hospital for treatments. Unfortunately, unable to bear the pain, he succumbed to it.

A case has been registered against car driver at Kota police station and police are investigating.
