Kumta: In a ghastly collision involving bike and the truck, both bike rider and the pillion rider died on the spot. The mishap happened in the evening of Thursday, 16th May, on Handigon NH-66 in the outskirts of Kumta.

The deceased are identified as Sadanand Narayan Mukri, and Vinod Laxman Mukri, both residents of Handigon in the taluk.

Sources informed that the accident happened when the truck was heading towards Honnavar from Kumta, while the bike was in the opposite direction. Both had an head-on collision, causing the bike rider and pillion stuck underneath the wheels of truck claiming their lives.

Kumta police rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigation. 

A case has been registered in Kumta police station.
