Kumta: Two youths were feared drowned into sea, while three others were rescued, after a group of friends from Haliyal had been to Kumta for a trip. The incident reported on 10th May, Wednesday in the evening around 5pm.

A group of around 27 students from Haliyal college had been to Kumta, among which 5 of them went on for swimming in the Arabian Sea. The heavy and lashing waves made two of the friends go drowning, while other three were saved by the help of local fishermen present on the spot. 

The deceased youths have been identified as Prajwal (19) and Francis Bregenza (18), residents​ of Haliyal. 

As soon as the information was received, the Kumta police personnel rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigations after filing the case. The searching operation for the bodies of youths was on.
