Karwar: Two youth lost their lives after they drowned in the Arabian sea here in Karwar on Sunday, 30 June.

The deceased are identified as Muhammad Naveed Quazi (17), and Nayeem Hebballi (21). 

According to sources, a group of around eight friends from Hubli had been to Karwar on tour. They visited the seashore at Karwar to swim. The high tides in the sea washed two of them, after which the bodies went missing. However, the search operation was launched immediately after the incident. 

Body of Muhammad Naveed Quazi was found, and the search is on for another missing body.

A case stands registered in Karwar police station in this regard.
