Mundgod: Two oxen were injured after the wall of a house collapsed on a cattle shed at Nandipur village in Katur gram panchayat limits of Mundagod taluk in the early hours of 4th July, Tusesday.

According to residents, the wall of Parameshwar Hanumantappa Vaddar's house collapsed on the cattle shed following incessant rain. The spinal cord of an ox was damaged in the incident, while another ox escaped with minor injuries.

Basavaraj Onikeri, a local leader, said, the severely injured ox is unlikely to survive. "Vaddar owns four acres and cultivate them with the help of his oxen. Now, it will be difficult for him to take up agri activities."

The village accountant, revenue inspectpor and grampanchayat officials visited the spot and promised financial assisant to the Vaddar family.
