Honnavar: Car driver was killed on the spot after coming in collision with a speeding truck on Emepail NH-66 in the taluk on Monday morning.

The deceased is identified as Vijayakumar, aged 32, a resident of Gundlupet in Chamrajnagar district.

Sources said that the mishap took place when car was heading towards Mysuru from Goa, while the truck was in the opposite direction. Four other persons who were in the car escaped with multiple injuries and have been shifted to Udupi hospital.

 A case has been registered in Honnavar police station.
