Kumta: A gruesome road accident reported in the early evening hours of 20th August, Sunday here on Alvekodi NH-66 in Kumta, where a truck rammed into Bolero pickup (mini truck), as a result the driver of Bolero pickup was injured seriously.

The injured driver has been identified as Ashok Rajaram. He sustained severe injuries to his head, after which he was rushed to Hubli hospital for advanced treatment after providing first aid at Kumta govt hospital.

Sources said that the incident occurred when both the vehicles approaching at a high speed lost the control and went on colliding each other. It was studied that during the incident truck was moving towards Honnavar from Kumta, while Bolero was in the opposite direction. The impact of collision made the Bolero vehicle topple on the highway, while the truck was seen damaged at its front wheel.
