Bhatkal: Under the anti-tobacco program, the affiliated tobacco inspection squad held a raiding at various tobacco selling shops located in Bhatkal city and fined.

Fine of 2200 rupees was received as from 13 shopkeepers for violating the law. 

In a raid, medical officer Dr Murthy Bhat, BEO Munji, ASI Somraj Rathod, Revenue inspector Shambu, and others were present.

Medical officer Dr Murthy Bhat on this occasion said that no tobacco sales have been banned yet. But there is a rule of not selling it openly.
