Mangaluru: Three youth were killed in a head-on collision between an SUV and a truck on NH 75 at Nelyady Halla in Kadaba taluk on Monday night.

The victims were identified as Samson, Abdul Sattar and Cyrus. Due to the impact of the head-on collision, Abdul Sattar and Cyrus died on the spot. The driver Samson breathed his last while being shifted to the hospital.

Another passenger who had been travelling in the SUV was admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

Uppinangady police told DH that the SUV was on its way from Nelyady to Uppinangady while the truck was speeding from Mangaluru to Bengaluru.

Based on a complaint from Janardhan, Uppinangady police registered a case under rash driving against the truck driver.
