Bhatkal: A theft has been reported at a house near Abubakar Masjid on Jamiabad road, Bhatkal on 7th August, Monday morning, where the thieves after being unable to find jewelry, stole the home appliances such as Television, Refrigerator, Washing machine, Juicer, Cosmetics etc.

According to the owner of the house Ms. Fairoza Kakde, she had locked the house on Saturday as she went to her mother’s house and returned on Monday morning. She was shocked to find out that both the bedrooms which she had locked were open.

She stated that all the cupboards had been broke-open and expensive clothes and cosmetics which were present in it were stolen. Home appliances worth Rs 1.75 lakh including TV, Fridge, Washing machine, Juicer, etc were also missing.

Goods were also stolen from the cupboards of the dining room. However, the thieves were not able to find jewelry or cash in the house.

Even though the doors were locked using an inside-lock system, the thieves somehow managed to get access to the rooms.

As soon as the information spread, the Bhatkal Rural police arrived at the spot and started the investigation. The net of a ventilator was found cut and a lock was found broken on the roof. Upon primary investigation, it is suspected that the thieves entered the house through the ventilator.

A case has been registered at Bhatkal rural police and further investigation is underway.
