Karwar: Members of Taxi Union, staged symbolic protest against restriction of outsource vehicles being allowed into Seabird Naval Base at Arga’s Main Entrance in taluk on 8th August, Tuesday.

“The local unemployed youth have brought vehicles from loan and rented them at Seabird Naval Base. They are not even able to pay interest on loans from money earned by running taxis. Hence, we request the taxi union to pay us on the basis of minimum wages. But now our vehicles have been banned from entering the naval base,” Taxi Union President Ganesh Pujari lamented.

“We have decided that no vehicle will be deployed to the Seabird naval base until the ban on the office bearers of union will taken back,”he added.
