Bhatkal: Amid surging COVID cases in the taluk, local social organization Majlise Islah was Tanzeem is all set to open a COVID centre in Bhatkal to treat Coronavirus infected patients.

Most of the people in Bhatkal depend upon the neighbouring regions Kundapur, Udupi and Mangaluru for medical treatments. But nowadays people worried about the recovery ratio getting very less compared to death cases in the outside hospitals. People are worried, and questions are being raised on social media about why the only dead bodies are returning back to Bhatkal?. To overcome the situation, Tanzeem has decided to set up the COVID centre. The Bhatkal Women's centre located in Heble has been designated to convert into a COVID hospital, where all the necessary medical facilities required for the treatments will be installed.

This COVID hospital carrying 50 beds will have a separate ward for women and have been assigned with three doctors including one physician and two duty doctors. Oxygen cylinders will be arriving in this centre in the next couple of days, sources from Tanzeem informed.

Sources also informed that this COVID hospital will offer a minimum cost of treatment without burdening the common man. This will provide a sense of relief to the people of Bhatkal to get admitted to the Corona infected patients into this hospital.
