Sullia: A woman and her son drowned in a pond at Mapalakaje in Sullia taluk.

The deceased is identified as Sangeetha and her three-and-a-half-year-old son Abhimanyu.

Sangeetha jumped into the pond after noticing that her son had accidentally fallen into the water body in farmland.

Sangeetha did not know swimming and drowned with her son. A case was registered by Sullia police station.
