Karwar: Folklore Nightingale Sukri Bommagouda has been admitted to the District Hospital after she claimed of having breathing problems on Friday.

She is undergoing treatment at ICU in the hospital and responding to the treatment, said doctors.

It is said that Sukri Bommagouda was witnessing breathing problem since last few days. After learning about her health condition, Janashakti Vedike President Madhav Nayak visited Sukri’s house at Badigeri in Ankola taluk and took her to the hospital.

Speaking to DH, District Surgeon Shivanand Kudtarkar said, treatment is being given for solving breathing problem. Other than that she does not have any other problems. In terms to take care of her health, she has been admitted at the Intensive Care Unit, he clarified.

MP Anant Kumar Hegde visited the hospital on Saturday and inquired about the health condition of Sukri Bommagouda. Along with Hegde, MLA Roopali Naik and BJP District President Ganapathi Ulwekar, media convener Nagaraj Nayak were present.

Prior to them, DC K Harish Kumar, Kannada & Culture Department In-charge Assistant Director also inquired her health status.
