Karwar: A PU II student who was supposed to appear for the annual exams on Friday, committed suicide at her home on Thursday.

The student was identified as Netravathi Gudikar (18) of Lakshmi Nagar in Mallapur in Karwar taluk. She was studying PU II arts stream at a college in Sadashivgad. She hanged herself when none were there at home. “She had also taken the hall ticket to appear for the exams and was engaged in exam preparation,” her parents said.

Her father and mother had been to Karwar hospital when she hanged herself. The exact reason for the step is not knownl.
