Kumta: A 20-Year-Old girl student allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself to the roof of her grandmother's house located in Baggon in Kumta on Saturday, 13th July.

The deceased is identified as Nayana Prabhakar, a student of final year Bcom at Govt first grade college, Kumta.

Nayana was an origin of Sirsi, but was staying at her grandmother's house since her childhood. The cause for taking this extreme step is yet to be ascertained.

A case has been registered in Kumta police station in this regard.
