Sirsi: MLA R V Deshpande has stated that soon after the result of by-polls to be held on December 5, the State will witness general elections once again, and Siddaramaiah-led Congress government will back in power.

He noted this while speaking during the election campaign in favour of Congress candidate from Yellapur assembly constituency Bheemanna Naik at Bisalakoppa on Wednesday.

He said, the previous Congress government was providing seven kilograms of rice under the Anna Bhagya scheme to the BPL cardholders. However, the current BJP government in the State led by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has cut down the quantity of rice from seven kg to four kg. If the Congress is voted to power, it will increase the quantity of rice to 10 kg, he said.

The word disqualification means ineligible. People of the State should reject the candidates who have been disqualified by the Supreme Court. People should teach a befitting lesson to the disqualified MLAs who have cheated the party due to greed of power, he appealed.

Congress leader Jayamala, Taluk Panchayat President Shreelata Kaleramane, Zilla Panchayat member Basavaraj Dodmani, Block Congress president C F Naik, social media head Navyashree, and others were present on the occasion.
