Bhatkal: A road accident was reported in the early hours of Thursday, 12th December here on Nawayath colony NH-66 in Bhatkal, after a speeding car rammed into an electric pole causing severe damage to the car. However, no casualties were reported due to the incident.

It is said that, the car driver, Chanki Ramesh, a resident of Telangana, was heading towards Hubballi route from Mangaluru, during which he lost the control of the vehicle and collided with the electric pole near Jaali cross on Nawayath colony NH-66 in Bhatkal. The impact of collision was such that the pole was uprooted.

Fortunately, the cables didn't had transmission of electricity, which could otherwise had given the incident an ugly turn.
