Sirsi: Sirsi Market Police arrested two persons hatching a dacoity conspiracy and seized lethal weapons and other materials used by them for robbery, here recently.

Based on a definite tip-off, a team of police raided the spot on Sirsi outskirts where they were sketching a plan.

The gang was making preparations to rob pedestrians and vehicle riders by waylaying them and attacking them with lethal weapons and chilli powder.

Police arrested Alex Rodrigues and Brain Almeda of Goa while their accomplice David Fernandes, Manjunath Pathankar of Ayyappa Nagar and Pavan Palekar of Kotangeri managed to escape.

Ganja worth Rs 4,950, a two-wheeler, two mobile phones, rods, sticks and chilli powder were recovered from them.
