Sirsi: A boy who was playing on the embankment of a lake at Bellankeri in Sirsi taluk died after he slipped into it.

Nutan (12), studying in the sixth standard at Ekkambi Government Higher Primary School, is the boy who lost his life.

Nutan along with his mother Indira had come to his aunt’s house in Dasankoppa. He along with other friends were playing on the lake embankment. However, he accidentally fell into the lake. The people who noticed it rushed to his rescue immediately. But he had died by the time he was brought out of the lake.

Banavasi police have registered a case.
