Sirsi: A protest was staged by the Congress activists of the district unit, against the Central government led by NDA on 3rd August, Thursday for ordering IT raids on Energy minister D K Shivakumar.

The activists gathered at the Old Bus Stand Circle in the city and shouted slogans against the center stating that it is often plotting I-T raids on state government by misusing Income Tax Department.

Congress district unit President Bhimanna Naik stated that the I-T raids on D K Shivakumar were the political vendetta. The Youth Congress district unit President Shetty condemned this move and warned the Centre stating that if the same tendency continues, then the party will stage further protests.

Block Congress President Ramesh Dubashi, leaders S K Bhagavat, Aruna Varenkar, Shakuntala Jaivanth, Raghu Naik, Prashant Gowda and others were present during the protest.
