Siddapur: Heavy rain continued to lash Siddapur taluk on Tuesday also. Though the rain took short breaks, the intensity of the rain was high.

At Kangod in Siddapur taluk, a papaya tree with fruits fell on the kitchen of the Government Higher Primary School on Tuesday morning causing loss. Cooks Renuka Shivanand Naik and Devaki Eshwar Naik who were working in the kitchen received minor injuries in the accident. They were taken to Taluk Hospital in Siddapur for treatment. This apart, a wall of a kaccha house belonging to Cristine Gonsalves of Sidddapur collapsed causing loss of Rs 20,000.
