Sirsi: M M Arts & Science College, Sirsi student Shridevi Hegde and Shrinidhi Hegde won first prize in Karnatak University-level Science lecture competition (in Kannada) in physics and chemistry categories respectively.

The competition was organised at Gadag under the aegis of Karnataka Rajya Vijnan Parishat. Shridevi and Shrinidhi have also been selected for the State-level competition.

Himanshu Hegde and Swati Hegde of the same college also participated in the biology and mathematics categories of the same competition and received appreciation. The team was guided by Prof Suma Hegde.
