Dubai: Dania Hassan, a sixteen-year-old student, who hails from Shiroor in Byndoor taluk of Udupi district, has become the only student from the eastern region of the United Arab Emirates to be honoured with 'Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Award for Excellence'.

It is gathered that this award is given to a student of any country without any differences of citizenship on the basis of his/her performance. Dania was lauded for her outstanding academic performance, leadership skills and contribution to social, environmental and global citizenship. The award winning student are honoured with a trophy and a certificate, in addition to bearing the full cost of the current academic year.

Dania Hassan is a daughter of Dr. Syed Hassan, who is a President of Green Valley National School located in Shiroor in Udupi district in coastal Karnataka.

Dania is currently a student of 10th grade at GEMS Winchester School in Fujairah, and lives with her parents in city of Khorfkan in United Arab Emirates.
