Bhatkal: At least one person was killed, while fifteen others sustained severe injuries after the serial road accident that happened in the early hours of 13th September, Wednesday morning here at Sodigadde NH-66 in Bhatkal. The vehicles involved in the accident include a truck, two buses, and two bikes.

Sources informed, ghastly road accident happened when the truck loaded with fishes was on the way towards Kerala from Goa, while the bus belonging to Ganesh travels was heading towards Hubli from Mangaluru. Another bus belonging to Sugama travels was behind this bus and went on hitting it from a rear. Adding to it, one more bus of Ganesh travels hit Sugama bus from behind. Simultaneously, two bikes too came under the net of this collision.

The truck driver was reportedly killed on the spot, while the driver and cleaner of Ganesh bus received serious injuries over the body. The deceased truck driver was identified as Abdullah (35), a resident of Kerala state. The seriously injured bus driver and cleaner were shifted to Mangalore hospital and are reported under the critical stage.

The driver of Sugama bus, Gouse, aged 55, also received multiple injuries. Another Ganesh bus, which collided, at last, was carrying many passengers who received minor injuries in the tragedy. Bike riders escaped with minor scratches on their body.

Hundreds of locals rushed to the spot in the late night after the reports of the accident went viral on social media.
