Bengaluru: A senior Congress leader, former Karnataka minister and Gulbarga MLA, Mr. Qamarul Islam passed away in a private hospital here at Bengaluru at the age of 69 due to cardiac arrest. As per the sources, it was reported that his health was not well since few days, due to which he was admitted to the hospital.
It is believed that his body will be taken to his native Gulbarga, where his last rites will be conducted.
Late Qamarul Islam was the six times member of legislative assembly (MLA) and had served the nation at his best. In 1996, he also served as the member of parliament (MP).
Elected as an MLA from Gulbarga in 2013, he served as the state minister from 2013 to 2016 as Minister for Minority Development and Waqf.
