New Delhi: Former external affairs minister and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj passed away on Tuesday night following cardiac arrest, AIIMS sources said. She was 67.
She was brought to AIIMS at 10:15 PM and was straight away taken to the emergency ward.
She had a kidney transplant in 2016 and had opted out of contesting Lok Sabha polls earlier this year for health reasons.
The development came just hours after she congratulated the Narendra Modi government following the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir.
