Bhatkal/Sirsi: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Bhatkal and Sirsi unit on 13th September, Wednesday, took out separate protest rallies in their respective towns and submitted a memorandum to UNO through Assistant commissioner seeking protection, justice, and peace with Rohingya Muslims in Burma.
The memorandum stated that the innocent Muslims in Burma are being treated with cruelty by the Buddhist government. The human rights are being violated by forcing them to flee the country. "Rohingya people too are human beings, killing and oppressing them should be stopped. UNO should soon get involved in this matter and be able to restore peace in the region as soon as possible.", it said. Appreciating the Turkey president Rajab Tayyab Erdogan, the activists of SDPI pressurized the Indian government to have a diplomatic intervention and solve the problems faced by the people of Myanmar.
In Sirsi, more than 500 activists along with local public witnessed the protest rally in the city and submitted the memorandum to UNO through assistant commissioner. SDPI Sirsi unit president Muhammad Aslam and Muhammed Mohsin addressed the gathering. Similarly, in Bhatkal, the SDPI activists gathered near AC office and submitted a memorandum to UNO through Assistant Commissioner. On the occasion Bhatkal SDPI leaders Zaheer Ahmed Shaikh, Muhammad Yusuf Mulla, Sarfaraz Khan, Azeem, and others were present.
