Karwar: The C.E.O of Zilla panchayat, L Chandrashekhar Nayak said that steps must be taken against the spread of misleading rumors about MR drive on social media and a complaint must be filed about it with cybercrime police.
He directed the officers to take strict action against the schools which did not cooperate with the MR drive completely in Honnavar, Bhatkal, Haliyal and Kumta taluks while speaking at the third round of district-level review meeting of DFTI (District Task Force for Immunisation) on thursday in Karwar.
District Health officer, Ashok Kumar was also present in the meeting and said that around 5,909 children from Bhatkal, 951 from Honnavar, 22 from Kumta and 203 from Haliyal have not been vaccinated. He also added saying that thirty-six schools in Bhatkal taluk refused to get their students vaccinated.
As a response to this, ZP CEO L C Nayak directed the officers to take disciplinary action against schools which refuse to cooperate and also to file a complaint with cybercrime police against those spreading misleading news about Measles-Rubella Vaccination in social networking sites.
