Karwar: The Karwar educational district is ranked first in the State in the students' admission process from the first standard to the tenth standard for this academic year.
It has achieved 87% progress in school admissions. With 86% admissions, Haveri and Dharwad districts are in the second and third places, respectively.
Karwar DDPI Harish Gaokar said, last year, 1.02 lakh children had got admissions in government, aided, unaided, and other residential schools in the educational district. This year too, the same target has been set. This time, 100% progress may be achieved as the admission process has continued, he added.
He said, English medium has been introduced in 33 government schools in Karwar educational district. There is a good response for it, he added.
