Gokarna: Hundred of acres of paddy crop was destroyed due to the emergence of salt water in the agriculture land under the jurisdiction of Torke Gram Panchayat in the village like Masakal, Hoskatta, Siddeshwar, Moolekeri and Madanakeri.

Memorandum to GP:
According to the locals, the mismanagement of Karlend gates was main reason for this big calamity.

The locals have submitted a memorandum in this regard to Torke Gram Panchayat officals to protect their cops.

Alternative step:
The Torke Gram Panchayat, they said, should call for tender to solve the problem. Until such time, salt water should be stopped by alternative ways, says Farmer Honnappa Nayak Hittalmakki.

Notice has also should be given to the fishermen who are looking after the management of gates,they said.
An alternative step will be taken to solve the problem, Torke Gram Panchayat President Sumitra Gowda said.
