Puttur: A raid was conducted by a team of Puttur town police, where as a result Rs. 50 lakh were seized in demonetized currency notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000. Three persons were nabbed in this regard.

According to sources, the sleuths received a tip off and acting upon it a team of police waylaid a car near Urlandy and made the seizure.

The accused were travelling to Mani from Madikeri in Puttur taluk when the raid was made.

A case has been registered at the Puttur town police station.
