Udupi: Minister for Sports and Youth Empowerment, Mr. Pramod Madhwaraj has congratulated the Indian Women’s cricket team for its good performance in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup-2017 held in England, by being the runners-up.

The minister has announced a reward of Rs 25 lakh each for Rajeshwari Gayakwad from Vijayapura and Veda Krishnamurthy from Kadur, Chikkamagaluru, the two players who represented Karnataka in the Indian cricket team.

A press release by the minister said the team had shown the best-ever performance and reached the final, overcoming all odds.
