Mangaluru: Unidentified miscreants fled with Rs 15 lakh that was kept in a car near Chilimbi on Friday.

Mohammed Rizwan, 46, a realtor, and his wife had come to a bank near Chilmbi. The couple had Rs 15 lakh which was meant to be deposited in another bank.

After parking the car, the couple walked in to the bank. Just then two men came on a bike and smashed open the car window and fled with the bag containing Rs 15 lakh kept in the seat of the vehicle. Rizwan immediately alerted jurisdictional police.

The incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed around the area. Police suspect that persons known to Rizwan may have committed the crime. Two police teams have been formed to crack the case.
