Mangaluru: The revised traffic fines would be levied across the Mangaluru city commissionerate in a day or two, said city policecommissioner PS Harsha.

Harsha said that the Mangaluru city traffic police had got the order for imposing stiffer penalties for traffic violations from Friday.

“However, we will be creating awareness across city limits about the revised fines by placing placards. Meanwhile, our system is also being updated. And after the process for the same will be completed, the revised fines will come into effect soon,” said Harsha.

Harsha added that all motorists were requested to set things rights in their vehicles or cough up hefty traffic fines.

On September 1, 63 clauses of the Motor Vehicles(Amendment) Act, 2019, came into effect across the country.
