Udupi: Rain which had receded for the last few days, intensified on Sunday. Kundapura, Baindoor, Hebri, Kaup, Brahmavar, Karkala and Udupi experienced bountiful rain.

The sky remained overcast throughout the day with intermittent rain lashing the region. IMD has sounded a yellow alert till August 19.

Two people suffered injuries after two houses and a compound wall were damaged at Kalathooru and Paduru in Kaup.

Shamala Madiwala and Krishnamurthy were injured when the roof tiles of a house flew away in the gusty wind.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, Dakshina Kannada district received an average of 10 mm rainfall.
